The NBA's board of governors intends to approve a The NBA's board of governors intends to approve a league proposal on a 22-team format to restart the season in Orlando, Florida, sources told ESPN. The conference call and vote is set for 12:30 p.m. ET Thursday, sources said. Commissioner Adam Silver and the league's advisory/finance committee have shared the broad details of a plan with teams to play at the Walt Disney World Resort, sources said. The plan includes 13 Western Conference teams and nine Eastern Conference teams, eight regular-season games, a possible play-in tournament for the eighth seed, and playoffs, sources said. The top 16 teams in the Eastern and Western conferences will be joined by teams currently within six games of eighth place in the two conferences -- New Orleans, Portland, San Antonio, Sacramento, Phoenix and Washington, sources said. The play-in tournament will include the No. 8 and No. 9 teams -- if the ninth seed finishes the regular season within four games of the eighth, sources said. In that case, the No. 8 seed enters a double-elimination tournament and the No. 9 seed a single-elimination tournament, sources said. Teams will begin training at team sites in July and advance to full training camps in Orlando later that month, sources said. Among the eight teams left out of the Orlando format, several are disappointed and concerned about how a nine-month window between NBA games affects their teams competitively and financially, sources said. For those teams left out of the playoffs -- including Atlanta, Cleveland, Charlotte and Detroit -- there has already been dialogue with the league urging mandatory summer training camps and regional fall leagues that could bridge the lengthy gap between seasons, sources told ESPN. Those are ideas many teams consider vital, and there is an expectation that the NBA will raise possible scenarios such as these with the players' union, sources said. The NBA and National Basketball Players Association are negotiating details of the return to play's safety protocols and competition. It is clear where the country’s leaders stand right now. As the nation is in severe pain, grieving the death of George Floyd and countless other people of color that have lost their lives to racism and police brutality, a group of protestors was peacefully gathered in Washington D.C.’s Lafayette Square to combat racial inequality in the world. The city has imposed a 7 PM curfew and, just before it hit, the crowd was doused in tear gas and struck with flash-bang explosions, and it was all just to make way for President Donald Trump to continue walking to the nearby St. John’s Church, which was damaged by fire the day prior, for a photo op.The President is being criticized for posing in front of the church, and for failing to pray, mention George Floyd, or speak on any of the protests that have taken over in recent days. Trump has been hiding out in the White House bunker but he decided to come out to have his photo taken with a bible outside of the battered church.Many have expressed outrage at the White House and the President for allowing the use of riot control tactics on a crowd of peaceful protestors, who were carrying signs and shouting for justice. The Minnesota Attorney General's office has finish The Minnesota Attorney General's office has finished its initial review of evidence in the investigation of four former Minneapolis Police officers involved in the killing of George Floyd and has rendered a decision regarding additional charges, two law enforcement officials briefed on the state's investigation told CNN. One of the officials said state Attorney General Keith Ellison will be making a significant announcement in the case early this afternoon. The officials would not reveal what the decision was. The announcement comes more than a week after Floyd was killed while in police custody in Minneapolis, sparking nationwide protests that call for the end to police violence against black citizens. Tory Lanez tweeted, “We should create a FLAG or SYMBOL that can be PLACED on THE STORE FRONT OF BUSINESSES(LOCAL AND CORPORATE )that SUPPORT THE PROTEST)…SO looters can know to leave those places alone .It will show if all looting is going on for the same cause , and protects supportive businesses” Others didn’t buy into the idea so quickly. @Friday_The13th stated, “It would be too easy for anybody who doesn’t care about #BlackLives to just go and get one. A protest has, once again, turned deadly in respon A protest has, once again, turned deadly in response to the tragic murder of 26-year-old Louisville woman, Breonna Taylor. David McAtee, known Louisville-area cook and owner of YaYa’s BBQ – was shot by police on Monday ( 6/1/20) morning. Both David McAtee and his mother Odessa Riley were among the crowd of hundreds in a recent demonstration for slain EMT Breonna Taylor, when local police and the National Guard were enforced a local curfew. The area was on 26th and Broadway near Dino’s Food Mart – where David McAtee would normally set up a food cart. This is how his mother, Odessa, described David: “[He was a] community pillar. He left a great legend behind. He was a good person. Everybody around him would say that. My son didn’t hurt nobody. He didn’t do nothing to nobody” The BBQ joint owner was tragically shot and killed after gunshots rang out, and police “returned fire,” according to LMPD Chief Steve Conrad. However, as found under local, state, and federal investigation – the officers who opened fire and the police chief involved did not have their body cameras activated during the incident. Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer commented and announced the chief’s termination: This type of institutional failure will not be tolerated. Accordingly, I have relieved Steve Conrad of his duties as chief of Louisville Metro Police Department.” The two officers involved have been placed on administrative leave. Assistant Chief of Police Robert Schroeder added: The two officers that fired their weapons violated our policy by either not wearing or not activating their cameras. That is completely unacceptable and there is no excuse…We will review the entire incident to determine if there are any other policy violations that occurred. I assure you we will follow up and there will be discipline for failing to utilize our cameras.” David McAtee was known to cater many community events and often donated meals. Ironically, the YaYa’s BBQ owner would frequently feed law enforcement for free. #streetz1033clt

We are a country that is scared. We are a country that is angry,” said Sam Page, county executive in St. Louis County, Missouri, where the city of Ferguson has been synonymous with the Black Lives Matter movement since the 2014 death of Michael Brown, a black 18-year-old, in a clash with a white officer. “And we are a country that is holding out for the promise of justice for all.” Let’s switch it up, y’all.
