Philadelphia rapper, Meek Mill, has been released from prison after 5 months. Meek has been serving a controversial sentencing of 2-4 years, for a probation violation. Meek’s story has gone global, drawing in avid supporters, including various celebrities and public figures.

Particularly the owner of the Philadelphia 76ers, Michael Rubin, has been advocating for the release of the rapper. He has made multiple trips to see him, along with players Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz. After being released, Rubin and comedian Kevin Hart, picked Meek up from prison, where they then flew off in a helicopter to the 76ers arena. The 76ers hosted a game 5 playoff game against the Miami Heat, in which Meek Mill rang the ceremonial bell, and sat court side with his son.
